I used to be insanely jealous of people that claimed they were “on fire” for God. I don’t think I really even knew what they meant - then or now. In fact, I’m not entirely sure they knew what they meant. I had a vision of a fire consuming them from within, causing them to live every single moment rather passionately.
But it’s occurred to me how terrible would that be! To not be able to relax, just for a moment. To not be able to have a “chill” conversation with your friends or roommates or family. I know what it’s like to be passionate, and it’s a good feeling. However, I am not entirely sure how I would feel about being passionate about my bagel and coffee in the morning. I’m not positive I would want to walk passionately to school every morning, even though I’m sure I’d probably burn a few extra calories. And I’m quite sure that not a lot of people would appreciate me driving passionately to the gym.
